I started shooting in 2002 as the result of a midlife crisis and found that I really enjoyed shooting and working to improve my skills. I decided that I’d enjoy teaching with a focus on women so I became involved with the 2nd Amendment Sisters in 2005 and also got my NRA Basic Pistol instructor credentials. I became the Boston Area Coordinator for the 2nd Amendment Sisters and started hosting ladies shooting events on a monthly basis at Boston Gun and Rifle in Dorchester, along with teaching the Basic Pistol safety class at the club. I was the coordinator from 2005 to 2009. Also in 2005 I was introduced to USPSA by a fellow shooter and I was hooked. I shoot as many local matches as I can and have also traveled to multiple states to compete in National matches. I started shooting USPSA with a basic 1911 firearm in the Limited 10 division, then switched to a more customized gun, a 2011, to shoot in the Limited division. For the past several years I have been shooting an 8 shot revolver in the Revolver division.
A fellow shooter and I founded Boston Urban Action Shooters which hosts indoor USPSA matches during the winter months at Mystic Valley Gun Club.
I am also on the Board of Directors of Commonwealth 2nd Amendment.
My biggest joy is to see the smile on a woman’s face after she takes her first ever shot!
